Late autumn in the Tatras foothills

The Tatras foothills offer beautiful conditions for photography even in late autumn
The Tatras foothills is a broad term, and this is what gives us the opportunity to choose a place according to the current conditions during this workshop. In addition, in November, larch trees turn a beautiful orange color and I will show you places where we will be able to use them beautifully for photography. We have a choice of Štrbské pleso, views of Kriváň, Zamagurie or Levočské vrchy. Of course, we will devote a lot of time to theory, we will edit photos together, and if we have the strength to take photos, we will also go out during the day. All this in a good mood and ; with pleasant accommodation.
Each participant will receive the materials from the workshop in PDF, so that they can return to them at any time. All modification procedures are available in the form of video instructions, so it will definitely not happen that you forget the procedures by the time you get home :)

Characteristics of the workshop

The workshop is intended primarily for photographers and tourists interested in landscape photography. You can be a complete beginner who wants to see more about the possibilities of your camera, or you can be an advanced photographer who would like to understand compositional methods or working with light even more deeply. The course is intended for both groups of photographers. Along with that, together we will learn to use auxiliary equipment more effectively when photographing in the field (tripod, tripod tips, cable trigger, filters), we will explain how important planning is and something I call systematic photography. Over a beer and a meal, we will later talk more about basic but also advanced photo editing (HDR, time blending, focus stacking, etc.).

  • in autumn, the larch trees become colored, there may already be snow in the Tatras, and therefore we have a chance for beautiful color contrasts
  • we will go through the most beautiful locations

  • pleasant accommodation, where we always spend a relaxing evening taking photos

Note:
The program is not fixed and depends on the given situation, especially on the weather conditions and so that everyone has the opportunity and time to learn as much as possible on the spot and at the same time take good photos with them. During the entire photo shoot in the field, there will be a joint discussion on various practical topics related to landscape photography.

Necessary photo equipment

  • ideally a digital SLR or mirrorless camera
  • basic wide-angle lens and telephoto lens (ideally with a focal length of approx. 70-200mm for full frame or 50-150 for cameras without a full frame sensor)
  • fixed tripod
  • filters (polarizing, transition, gray) - they are not a necessity but definitely an advantage
  • spare camera battery and memory cards :)

Accommodation during the workshop

​Pension in Poprad
  • we will be staying in a guesthouse in Poprad, which is strategically well located so that we don't have to go far
  • if possible, half board will be part of the accommodation
  • each participant will have their own room
Prices
  • The price for accommodation will be approx. 40 EUR/person per night including breakfast
  • I will communicate the exact price to the participants by email
