Zamagurie I

Discover the most photogenic places of Zamagurie region
Zamagurie is full of picturesque corners with views of the Belianske Tatras. Spring in this region offers the photographer extraordinary experiences full of contrasts, colors and spectacular views, but also subtle and unobtrusive details. This region is basically my home field and I really know it to the smallest detail.
Each participant will receive the materials from the workshop in PDF, so that they can return to them at any time. All modification procedures are available in the form of video instructions, so it will definitely not happen that you forget the procedures by the time you get home :)

Characteristics of the workshop

The workshop is intended primarily for photographers interested in landscape photography.The nature of the landscape offers for this course an ideal combination of scenes suitable for lenses with wider focal points as well as scenes ideal for telephoto lenses. We will show you the most beautiful places of Zamagurie, Pieniny or Polish Tatras foothills. We will use the day to take pictures of mountain streams.You can be a complete beginner who wants to see more about the possibilities of your camera, or you can be an advanced photographer who would like to understand even more deeply the methods of creating a composition or working with light. The course is designed for both groups of photographers. Along with that, together we will learn to use auxiliary equipment more effectively when photographing in the field (tripod, tripod tips, cable trigger, filters), we will explain how important planning is and something I call systematic photography. Over a beer and a meal, we will later talk more about basic but also advanced photo editing (RAW, time blending, focus stacking, etc.)

Advantages of the workshop

  • the Zamaguria region is one of the most landscape-attractive areas in Slovakia
  • spring here is full of contrasts and colors. If the conditions are good, there is still snow on the mountains and everything is already beautiful green in the foothills
  • we will go through the most beautiful locations, which have already become a term among landscapers - Osturňa, Lapszanka, Lesnícke sedlo, but we will also show lesser-known places
  • during the day we will take pictures of Tatra streams
  • good mood and willingness to explain and thereby pass on as much knowledge and experience as possible
  • pleasant accommodation, where we always spend a relaxing evening taking photos

Note:
The program is not fixed and depends on the given situation, especially on the weather conditions and so that everyone has the opportunity and time to learn as much as possible on the spot and at the same time take good photos with them. During the entire photo shoot in the field, there will be a joint discussion on various practical topics related to landscape photography.

Necessary photo equipment

  • ideally a digital SLR or mirrorless camera
  • basic wide-angle lens and telephoto lens (ideally with a focal length of approx. 70-200mm for full frame or 50-150 for cameras without a full frame sensor)
  • fixed tripod
  • filters (polarizing, transition, gray) - they are not a necessity but definitely an advantage
  • spare camera battery and memory cards :)

Accommodation during the workshop

  • we will be staying in beautiful cottage in Poladn with amaying view
  • accomodation will be without meals
